KEDIT for Windows 1.6.1 is the current maintenance release of KEDIT. It runs on both the 32-and 64-bit versions of Windows 7, 8.1, and 10.
KEDIT for Windows 1.6.1 is a minor update to the previous release of the program (version 1.6, from December 2007). It fixes a bug that prevented KEDIT's DOS command from working on Windows 8 or later. This upgrade is free for licensed users of previous versions of KEDIT for Windows.
The previous maintenance release of the program, KEDIT for Windows 1.6, was released in December 2007 to replace version 1.5, which came out in the 1990s. You can view a summary of the changes in KEDIT for Windows 1.6.
If you are a licensed user of any previous version of KEDIT for Windows, you can download this free upgrade to KEDIT for Windows 1.6.1. The upgrade will install properly even on a new computer where your previous copy of KEDIT for Windows is not already installed.
Note: KEDIT for Windows 1.6.1 is a free upgrade only for licensed users of previous versions of KEDIT for Windows. If you are upgrading from KEDIT for DOS or KEDIT for OS/2, you will need to purchase the upgrade. If you are not yet a licensed user of KEDIT, will need to purchase a full license for KEDIT for Windows 1.6.1.
