KEDIT for Windows 1.6 Upgrade

KEDIT for Windows 1.6, released in December 2007, is available as a free upgrade for licensed users of KEDIT for Windows 1.5.

KEDIT for Windows 1.6 is officially supported on Windows XP, Windows 2000, and Windows Vista. Unofficially, it will probably still work on Windows 98 and Windows Me, but it will not work on Windows 95 or Windows NT.

KEDIT for Windows 1.6 does not include new printed documentation. Instead, full copies of the KEDIT for Windows User's Guide and Reference Manual are included with the program as PDF-format files.

The changes in KEDIT for Windows 1.6 involve:

• Improved compatibility with Windows Vista, including a new setup program, conversion of the Help file to HTML Help format, and adjustments to fit in with Vista's "User Account Control" security features.
• Increased internal limits - for example, more files can now be edited at once, and more lines are allowed in macros.
• Miscellaneous bug fixes, performance improvements, and minor new features, such as the ability to print syntax-colored text on a color printer.

If you are a licensed user of KEDIT for Windows 1.5, you are welcome to download this free upgrade to KEDIT for Windows 1.6.

We suggest that you install the KEDIT for Windows 1.6 into the same directory where KEDIT for Windows 1.5 is currently installed.

Note: KEDIT for Windows 1.6 is a free upgrade only for licensed users of KEDIT for Windows 1.5.
If you are upgrading from KEDIT for DOS, KEDIT for OS/2, or KEDIT for Windows 1.0, you will need to purchase the upgrade. If you are not yet a licensed user of KEDIT, will need to purchase a full license for KEDIT for Windows 1.6.
